Police are investigating a home invasion reported Tuesday morning in west suburban Villa Park.

Officers were called about 7 a.m. to a home in the 500 block of North Wisconsin, where a 64-year-old woman told them she’d been confronted by a man in her home, according to a statement from Villa Park police.

He took “several small value items” before running away, police said.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-7 Hispanic man between 20 and 30 years old with a medium build, according to police. He was wearing a red or burgundy T-shirt with blue Hawaiian-type shorts.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detective Sgt. Lyons at (630) 592-6117.
