Groundskeeper Roger Bossard hoses down the dirt around home plate before the White Sox and Tigers scheduled game at U.S. Cellular Field Wednesday.

The White Sox game against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field was delayed due to an anticipated fast-moving storm in the area that never materialized.

The Sox announced the delay before the scheduled 1:10 p.m. game time, but it did not rain at the ballpark. The game began at 1:50.

Left-hander Jose Quintana started for the White Sox against Tigers’ right-hander Anibal Sanchez.
