A 16-year-old boy was shot Sunday afternoon in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.

He was walking in the 6300 block of South Cottage Grove at 2:43 p.m. when someone walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

The boy was shot in the shoulder and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
