Woman, 50, critically wounded in Marquette Park shooting

A 50-year-old woman was shot and critically wound Monday evening in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Just before 5 p.m., the woman was shot in the head in the 6800 block of South Rockwell, according to Chicago police.

She was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.

Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
