Woman critically wounded in Lawndale shooting

A woman was shot and critically wounded Thursday morning in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

The 28-year-old was sitting in a vehicle at 11:12 a.m. in the 3900 block of West Roosevelt when someone opened fire from a silver vehicle, according to Chicago Police.

The woman was shot in the back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
