Man, 22, shot in hand in East Garfield Park

A man was shot Tuesday evening in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 22-year-old man was on the corner at 6:09 p.m. in the 500 block of North Ridgeway when someone fired shots at him, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered a gunshot wound to both hands and was taken to Norwegian American Hospital, where he was treated and released, police said.

Area North detectives were investigating the shooting.
