A man was killed in a shooting Sunday night in the South Shore neighborhood.

Marquis Lindsey, 32, was walking on the sidewalk about 9 p.m. in the 2400 block of East 78th Street when a male walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Lindsey, who lived in the same neighborhood, was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Area South detectives were investigating the shooting.
