Man shot after leaving home to investigate gunfire in Roseland

A man was wounded in a shooting Tuesday evening in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The man was shot in the groin at 5:28 p.m. in the 100 block of West 112th Place after he left a home to investigate gunfire he heard in the area, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said.

Area South detectives were investigating the shooting.
