A person was shot Tuesday night in south suburban Harvey.

Police responded to a call of multiple shots fired about 11 p.m. in the 15000 block of Western Avenue and found a person with gunshot wounds about half a block away. The person was taken to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey where he was in serious condition.

The Harvey police department was not immediately available to confirm the shooting.
