Woman, 18, wounded in West Woodlawn shooting, 1 in custody

A woman was shot Tuesday evening in the West Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

The 18-year-old was involved in an argument at 7:08 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Champlain when someone walked up and fired a shot into her car, according to Chicago Police.

She suffered a gunshot wound to her pinky finger and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition, police said.

A suspect was taken into custody, police said. Charges were pending.
