Woman, 24, shot in neck in Fernwood

A 24-year-old woman was shot in the neck Saturday afternoon in the Fernwood neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The woman was wounded when a male fired shots at her about 1:30 p.m. in the 10200 block of South Normal, according to Chicago Police.

She was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where her condition stabilized, police said.

Area South detectives were investigating the shooting.
