Boy fatally shot in East Garfield Park yard

A 17-year-old boy was found shot to death Saturday morning in a yard in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Ladarius Wallace was shot in the chest and found unresponsive at 7:27 a.m. in the 3400 block of West Carroll, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy Sunday found Wallace died from a gunshot wound to his back. His death was ruled a homicide.

An 18-year-old man was wounded in a shooting one block away the night before.
