Man shot in Austin

A man was wounded in a shooting Monday night in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The 28-year-old was walking about 7:55 p.m. in the 100 block of North Parkside when he was shot in the chest, according to Chicago Police. He did not know where the shots came from.

He was taken to Loretto Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.

Area North detectives were investigating.
