A man was shot Sunday afternoon in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The 24-year-old was walking toward a pickup truck parked in the first block of North Lockwood Avenue when a black car turned drove by and someone inside fired shots, striking him at 2:25 p.m. in the first block of South Lockwood, Chicago Police said.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the upper right shoulder, police said.

He took himself to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park where he was in good condition. He was not cooperating with the investigation, police said.

Just before the incident, the vehicle the shooter was in turned southbound onto Lockwood Avenue from Madison Street, police said.

Area North detectives were investigating the shooting.
