Man, 18, wounded in Austin shooting

An 18-year-old man was shot Wednesday night in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The man was standing on a sidewalk about 10:15 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Iowa when another male walked up and shot him in the left shoulder, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.

Area North detectives were conducting the shooting.
