Man, 60, found shot to death in Kenwood

A 60-year-old man was found shot to death May 27 in the Kenwood neighborhood on the South Side has been identified.

About 8 a.m., Damon Edward Portis was found in the driver’s seat of a parked car in the 5000 block of South Drexel Avenue, Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said.

Portis was shot once in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. He lived in the Hyde Park neighborhood.
