A man was shot Sunday morning in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side.

The 23-year-old man was on the sidewalk at 6:38 a.m. in the 300 block of East 47th Street when a vehicle drove by and someone inside fired shots, striking him in the buttocks, back and leg, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition stabilized, police said.

The shots were fired from a small SUV or crossover vehicle, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating the shooting.
