5-year-old boy shot in Ford Heights

A 5-year-old boy was shot Monday morning in south suburban Ford Heights.

The shooting was reported about 11:25 a.m. and happened in the 1100 block of Drexel, according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

The boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition, the sheriff’s office said.
