Man expected to survive after being hit by multiple vehicles on Kennedy Expressway in West Loop

A 28-year-old man was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, fire officials said.

A man is expected to survive after being struck by multiple vehicles that did not stop Sunday evening on the Kennedy Expressway in the West Loop.

He was struck by the vehicle about 11 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 90 after walking down the the Adams Street overpass, according to Illinois State Police.

The man was hit by at least two vehicles, none of which stopped after hitting him, state police said.

The man, 28, was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, a Chicago Fire Dept. spokesman said. State police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

All southbound lanes of traffic were shut down at 11:15 p.m. and reopened at 11:37 p.m., state police said. The investigation is ongoing.
