Authorities release name of man fatally struck by car in Plainfield

A preliminary investigation found that a Chrysler was driving north on Route 59, just north of Route 126, and struck a male pedestrian who was in the road.

A teen boy was fatally shot Aug. 14, 2022, in the Golden Gate neighborhood.

A man was killed Nov. 24, 2020, after he was struck by a vehicle in suburban Plainfield.

Police have released the name of a 48-year-old man killed Tuesday after he was struck by a car in suburban Plainfield.

Sean J. Hall was hit by a northbound Chrysler Sebring about 9 p.m. on Route 59, just north of Route 126, Plainfield police said in a statement.

He was taken to Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet where he died, police said.

Plainfield police said their investigation is ongoing. Police did not say if the driver was cited, or why Hall was in the roadway.
