Lanes reopened at 3:30 p.m. Friday after a motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash on I-80 in the west suburbs.
The crash happened about 10:50 a.m. in the eastbound lanes at Oak Park Avenue, according to Illinois State Police.
A vehicle traveling in the middle lane tried to move over to the right and struck the back of a 2004 Honda Shadow motorcycle, causing the driver to lose control and crash into a guardrail, state police said.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 69-year-old man from Lansing, was ejected, state police said.
The two lanes were closed several hours for an investigation.
State police asked witnesses of the crash to call investigators at 847-294-4400.
