Man dies after crashing into fence in Humboldt Park

A 36-year-old man died after he crashed into a fence early Thursday in Humboldt Park on the West Side.

He was driving alone at a high rate of speed at 3:45 a.m. before crashing in the 4000 block of West Chicago Avenue, Chicago police said.

He was ejected from the vehicle and then taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Nobody else was hurt.

He was identified as Jason Flynn Sr., the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy confirmed he died of injuries from the crash and ruled his death an accident.

The Chicago Police Department’s Major Accidents Unit is investigating.
