Reckless homicide charge filed after hit-and-run driver kills woman in Englewood: police

Wade, the driver, and a passenger of the SUV, both males, were arrested after running from the crash.

Bail was denied Thursday for Jesus Garcia, 22, accused of fatally shooting a 25-year-old man on Sept. 17 in Logan Square.

A 20-year-old Ford City man faces a reckless homicide charge after allegedly striking a woman in Englewood while fleeing a traffic stop.

Isaac Wade was the driver when he bolted from a traffic stop Monday in the 7200 block of North Racine Avenue, according to Chicago police.

Wade then blew a red light at 74th Street and Racine and struck a Jeep, police said.

The SUV then fatally struck a pedestrian, who was identified as 43-year-old Lakisel Thomas of Englewood.

Three adults in the Jeep had minor injuries, police said.

Wade and a passenger were arrested after running from the crash, police said. The passenger was released without charges.

Wade was expected in court Wednesday.
