Authorities identify Carpentersville man killed in Huntley crash

The man crashed head-on with another vehicle Monday on Route 47 north of Regency Square Parkway.

Authorities released the name of a 27-year-old man from Carpentersville who died in a crash in Huntley in the northwest suburbs.

Julian M. Torres died after a crash that happened Monday on Illinois Route 47 north of Regency Square Parkway, according to the Kane County coroner’s office. The coroner’s office said preliminary autopsy results found he died of multiple injuries.

Two cars crashed head-on there at 5:25 a.m., according to a statement from Huntley police. Torres, the driver and sole occupant of an Acura TL, was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver and sole occupant of a GMC Sierra was taken to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital for treatment. That person’s condition was not released.
