When Matt Forte left Sunday’s loss to the Vikings with an apparent injury, the Bears entire season looked like it took an ugly turn. While Forte may not be able to lead the Bears to the playoffs, their offense without him is a scary thought.
Following the game, the Bears kept quiet about Forte’s injury, only saying it was to his right knee. John Fox said the team had an idea what the details around the injury were, but he wouldn’t speculate. Not even fellow players knew what the diagnosis was.
#Bears players repeatedly said they don't know what Matt Forte's status is, but they did express great confidence in rookie Jeremy Langford.

However, a report Sunday evening gives a slightly clearer view of what Forte’s future could look like. According to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, the Bears believe Forte suffered an MCL injury, not the ACL.
Bears don't think it's an ACL for Matt Forte, per @JayGlazer. They think MCL.

If this is true, it’s good news for the Bears. In general, an MCL injury is much easier to rehab and recover from than an ACL.
Whatever the diagnosis, the Bears will likely need to prepare for at least a short period of time without Forte. With Jacquizz Rodgers already on injured reserve, the bulk of the work load will fall to rookie Jeremy Langford. Behind Langford, the Bears have second year running back Ka’Deem Carey.
