Robbie Gould sets franchise record for most field goals

The Bears opened up Sunday against the Packers with an impressive drive down the field against the Packers.

While it didn’t result in a touchdown, Robbie Gould came on the field and started off the season with a relative chip shot. The longtime kicker drilled a 28-yard field goal to give Chicago the early lead.

The field goal itself was relatively unremarkable. However, with it, Gould became the all-time leader in franchise history in made field goals.

Gould’s field goal moved him past fan favorite Kevin Butler in the record books.Butler kicked for the Bears for a decade from 1985 to 1995.

Since being drafted in 2005, Gould has been one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history. At age 33, Gould is signed through the 2017 season.
