Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young has never been a big fan of Jay Cutler.

Appearing on the WGN Morning News on Thursday, the ESPN analyst was asked about one of his favorite targets. True to form, Young remained critical of Cutler:

He’s run through some of the best coaches I’ve ever been around including Mike Shanahan and Marc Trestman, who are quarterback gurus. To me, if you’re any good, you’re going to get a lot better around those guys. I didn’t see Jay get better … a little bit, but not as much as he should have. So, that’s hard for me. I think it reflects more on Jay than anything else.

For Bears fans, Young parted with maybe the most painful comment of all when asked about Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers:

“Aaron Rodgers could retire now and go right into the Hall of Fame,” Young said.
