Cordarrelle Patterson’s message to Deshaun Watson: ‘Make some moves’

The Bears’ most notable online recruiter targeted his biggest fish Thursday: quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Returner Cordarrelle Patterson tweeted at the Texans star’s Twitter account with a simple message: “make some moves this off season fam!!! #DABEARS”

Watson isn’t the first player Patterson has tried to lure to the team on Twitter. He has insisted for years that it’s playful. But it could be interpreted as a shot at Mitch Trubisky, who said he would like to return to the Bears.

Watson reportedly is frustrated with the direction of the Texans, who just hired Patriots executive Nick Caserio as general manager and are looking for a new coach. Those in league circles wonder whether Watson would demand a trade just four months after signing a four-year, $156 million extension.

Patterson has sent similar tweets to receiver Stefon Diggs, offensive lineman Quinton Spain, defensive lineman Damon “Snacks” Harrison and others over the years. He tweeted in October that he was “giving up being the GM.” Asked about it a week later, he played coy.

“I don’t do no recruiting, man,” he deadpanned. “That ain’t even in my DNA, man.”

Patterson has reached the Pro Bowl in each of his two Bears seasons. He’s a free agent this offseason.
