The Bears signed second-round draft pick Teven Jenkins to his four-year rookie contract, closing the book on their 2021 draft class before the end of mandatory minicamp.
The Bears other six draft picks had already signed.
Jenkins has been playing first-string left tackle since the Bears traded up to pick him with the 39th selection in late April. That move allowed them to cut veteran Charles Leno two days later.
“Teven is doing a really good job of trying to get down the fundamentals of what [offensive line] coach Juan [Castillo] teaches and put it together,” Nagy said. “And when we get to training camp and the pads come on and we start doing 1-on-1’s you can really truly see where these guys are at.”
The Bears spent Wednesday participating in the second of three mandatory minicamp practices at Halas Hall. After a short practice Thursday, the Bears will break for the summer. Training camp is expected to start July 27 at Halas Hall, with three preseason games to follow.
