Outside linebacker Robert Quinn, who missed mandatory minicamp practices because of a sore back, missed practice for the same reason Tuesday. The Bears will monitor the injury closely.

“We want to make sure we take care of him all year long, all training camp,” Nagy said. “We’ll have a really good plan.”

The team desperately needs contributions from Quinn, who had only two sacks last year after signing a five-year, $70 million deal.

“Robert has come in here with a regular mindset, he’s practiced his tail off, he’s looked really, really good,” Nagy said. “Now it’s just a time where we’ve got to pull back and protect him from him.”

This and that

At Soldier Field for the first time since the Bears began flirting with a move to Arlington Heights, Nagy demurred when asked about a potential new stadium.

“I leave that up to the people that are way above me, and I stay out of it,” he said.

—- Guard James Daniels and inside linebacker Josh Woods both left practice with thigh injuries. Cornerback Artie Burns (quad) and safety Tashaun Gipson (groin) missed practice after their injuries Monday.

—- With Scales out, tight end Cole Kmet filled in as long snapper.
