Bob’s Discount Furniture has leased suburban warehouse space ahead of opening stores in the area, probably in 2016.

The Manchester, Connecticut, furniture chain has leased a 752,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center in Shorewood.

“We’re delighted to secure this much first-class commercial space in such a desirable location,” Bob Kaufman, Bob’s president emeritus and co-founder, said in a news release. “The facility will support our exciting expansion plans into the greater Chicago market.”

Bob’s Discount Furniture has 54 stores in New England and mid-Atlantic states. A spokesman told Furniture/Today that the company will take possession of the Shorewood center in April and open its first stores here in 2016.
