Huron Consulting acquires Studer Group

Huron Consulting Group said Tuesday it has agreed to buy Studer Group, which concentrates on working with health care providers.

Chicago-based Huron will pay $325 million for Studer. The Pensacola, Florida,-based Studer employs about 235 employees.

“Studer Group is the market leader in driving cultural transformation to help hospitals improve performance,” Huron president and CEO James H. Roth said in a news release. “The combination of Huron and Studer Group will create the premier professional services firm focused on improving healthcare providers’ clinical, operational, and financial outcomes.”

The combined company will employ 1,500 health care professionals. The company had pro forma revenue of $904 million for the 12 months through Sept. 30, 2014.
