WASHINGTON — Democratic White House hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders hits Chicago on Monday for an event hosted by the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics.
Sanders, a 1964 U. of Chicago graduate, is squeezing in the event as he returns to Washington for Senate votes after an Iowa campaign swing.
Sanders will land at O’Hare Airport on Monday morning and travel to the U. of Chicago’s Rockefeller Chapel, where he plans to speak for a brief time and then take questions.
The Sanders session will be open to the press.
Afterward, he takes off to Washington from Midway Airport.
The U. of Chicago IOP was founded by David Axelrod, President Barack Obama’s former top strategist.
