Man, 46, fatally stabbed in Lawndale home

Elzie L. Johnson was found with a stab wound to the chest in the 1600 block of South Lawndale Avenue, authorities said.

A 46-year-old man was stabbed to death Tuesday in Lawndale on the West Side.

A woman discovered Elzie L. Johnson not breathing about 6:40 a.m. inside a home in the 1600 block of South Lawndale Avenue, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Johnson had a stab wound in his chest and was pronounced at the scene, authorities said. His death was ruled a homicide. He lived in the same block.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
