A 39-year-old woman was found stabbed and beaten to death last week in Armour Square on the South Side.
Officers responded to a well-being check about 12:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at an apartment in the 300 block of West 29th Street and found her unresponsive in the bathroom, Chicago police said.
Tiffany Evelyn Phillips had blunt force trauma to her head and face, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy found she died of multiple sharp force injuries in an assault and ruled her death a homicide. She lived in the same block where she was found.
Area One detectives are investigating.
