A 23-year-old man was shot to death Wednesday in Back of the Yards on the South Side.

About 6:05 a.m., he was standing outside a building in the 4500 block of South Racine Avenue, when a black car pulled up and two males wearing all black and masks got out and fired shots, Chicago police said.

Luis D. Martinez was struck in the neck, the abdomen, and pronounced dead at the scene, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy conducted Thursday ruled Martinez’s death a homicide.

Police said the shooters got back in the car and sped off.
