A 19-year-old man shot Friday in Humboldt Park on the West Side has died.

Diangelo Lopez was walking in the street about 10:45 a.m. in the 1400 block of North Central Park Avenue when someone shot him in the back, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The gunman fired nine shots and then ran off, police said.

Lopez was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he died at 5:46 p.m. that evening, authorities said.

An autopsy released Monday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office said.

Area North detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
