A 39-year-old man was found fatally shot Saturday in Austin on the West Side.

About 8:30 a.m. officers found the man unresponsive in the 800 block of North Lorel Avenue, with a gunshot wound to the left side of his body, under his arm, Chicago police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as David L. Green of West Garfield Park.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
