Man killed, another wounded in Humboldt Park shooting

Both men were taken to Stroger Hospital, where one of them later died, police said.

A man was shot dead and another was hurt Sunday in Humboldt Park.

They were shot about 7:30 p.m. in the 800 block of North Springfield Avenue, Chicago police said.

Toby Boens, 22, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

A 34-year old man was hit in the arm and abdomen and was taken to the same hospital in critical condition, police said.

No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
