Authorities have identified a man found fatally shot Sunday in north suburban Zion.

Robert Norris, 44, of Zion, died on June 22 at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan, according to Lake County Coroner Howard Cooper.

About 11 p.m. June 21, a person flagged down an officer at 11 p.m. and reported a man who was possibly passed out in the 2800 block of Galilee Avenue, Zion police said. Norris was found in a grassy area with several gunshot wounds, officials said.

The Lake County Major Crime Task Force and Zion police are conducting a homicide investigation.
