A man was killed in a shooting Wednesday in Austin on the West Side.

He was traveling in a vehicle about 6:16 p.m. in the 700 block of South Cicero Avenue when another vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire, Chicago police said.

Orlando Smith, 22, was hit in the head and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died at 5:29 a.m. Thursday, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He lived in Austin.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
