Man fatally shot in Englewood drive-by

Allen Britten, 38, was on the street when a light-colored vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire, authorities said.

A 38-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday in a drive-by in Englewood on the South Side.

About 12:40 p.m., he was standing in the 6400 block of South Green Street when a light-colored vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire, Chicago police said.

Allen Britten was struck in the head and back and pronounced dead at the scene, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He lived in Englewood.

Area One detectives are investigating.
