Man found fatally shot in Englewood

A man was killed in a shooting Thursday in Englewood on the South Side.

Officers responded to reports of a person shot about 5 p.m. in the 2000 block of West Marquette Road and found the 29-year-old unresponsive in front of a home, Chicago police said.

The man had a gunshot wound to his face and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Amos Tye of Marquette Park. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

Area One detectives are investigating.
