A 16-year-old boy was killed in a shooting Monday in suburban Maywood.
Officers responded around midnight to the 1100 block of 12th Avenue for reports of a fight involving a large group of people, Maywood police said in a statement.
When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy with multiple gunshot wounds, police said. He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
He was identified as Tyshawn Stone, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.
