SWAT officers were on scene after a man barricaded himself inside an apartment Thursday night on the Near North Side.

A SWAT standoff ended peacefully Friday morning when a man surrendered to police after barricading himself in a Near North Side apartment for 10 hours.

The officers were dispatched for a man barricaded in an apartment at 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of North Dearborn, police said.

He surrendered to police at 8 a.m. Friday and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for evaluation, police said.

Police did not release additional details.
