Man stabbed to death in South Shore

A man was stabbed to death Friday night on a sidewalk in South Shore, according to police.

Andre Padgett was stabbed by someone else around 8 p.m. in the 7700 block of South Coles Avenue, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He suffered stab wounds to the chest and arm and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Padgett, 55, died of a stab wound to his chest, according to the medical examiner’s office.

No arrests were reported.
