Person taken into custody after standoff with SWAT team in Gresham

A person was taken into custody after a standoff with the SWAT team Wednesday at a home in Gresham on the South Side.

The SWAT team was called about 4:10 p.m. after the male threatened a female with a gun and then barricaded himself inside a home in the 8900 block of South Eggleston Avenue, Chicago police said.

By 11:30 p.m., the male had been taken into custody without incident, police said. No injuries were reported.

The male was evaluated at a local hospital and no charges were pending Thursday evening.
