Gunman robs Portage Park restaurant

A 50-year-old man was working the counter at a restaurant in the 3500 block of North Central Avenue, when a male walked in, flashed a gun, reached over the counter and then stole money from the register.

A teen boy was fatally shot Aug. 14, 2022, in the Golden Gate neighborhood.

A 50-year-old man was working the counter at a restaurant in the 3500 block of North Central Avenue, when a male walked in, flashed a gun, reached over the counter and stole money from the register, Chicago police said.

He was last seen running to a waiting silver-colored sedan.

Area Five detectives are investigating.
