Robbers targeted a convenience store and pistol-whipped an employee early Wednesday in West Rogers Park on the North Side.
About 2:20 a.m., two males walked into a convenience store in the 6000 block of North Western Avenue, Chicago police said.
One of them was armed with a gun and allegedly demanded the employee open the register. When employee complied, the gunman struck them in the head with the gun and dragged them to the back area of the store, police said.
The males allegedly took money from the register and fled. The employee refused treatment, police said.
