Robber pistol-whips convenience store employee in West Rogers Park

The robbery happened early Wednesday on Western Avenue.

Seven people were killed including five children in a crash July 31, 2022 in McHenry County.

A convenience store was robbed at gunpoint March 24, 2021, in the 6000 block of North Western Avenue.

Robbers targeted a convenience store and pistol-whipped an employee early Wednesday in West Rogers Park on the North Side.

About 2:20 a.m., two males walked into a convenience store in the 6000 block of North Western Avenue, Chicago police said.

One of them was armed with a gun and allegedly demanded the employee open the register. When employee complied, the gunman struck them in the head with the gun and dragged them to the back area of the store, police said.

The males allegedly took money from the register and fled. The employee refused treatment, police said.
