A 14-year-old boy was shot Tuesday morning in Bronzeville on the South Side.

About 1 a.m., he was walking in the first block of West 35th Street, when he heard shots and felt a pain, Chicago police said.

The boy was struck in the ankle and taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment, police said.

Area Three detectives are investigating.
